Three discs indicate the time, wihich is read off along an imaginary line between the "12" and the center of the dial. The discs rotate clockwise, the large disc indicates hours, the middle one minutes and the inner one seconds.

Personal note : it must be quite difficult to read the time, as the hours and minutes on the 2 disks are counterclockwise. If they would have used a counter-clockwise movement, the disks would have use the normal order.
